The Rio Grande Elite Cycling Team Partners With Fezzari Bicycles
The Rio Grande Elite Cycling Team is excited to partner with Fezzari Bicycles for the 2022 season!
The Rio Grande Elite Cycling Team is a US Domestic Elite Team based out of Fort Collins Colorado. Our goal at Team Rio Grande is to cultivate the best emerging talent in Colorado through racing and engaging with the community. Our program has developed and continues to develop elite and professional athletes who compete at all levels of competition nationally and regionally. We give our riders the platform to perform at the biggest stage races in the country by attending UCI stage races and racing in the US Pro Road Tour events! We also race the full Colorado Road Calendar. We take pride in being one of the best teams in Colorado,
This year will be the team's 23rd season in operation. After starting as a junior development team in 1998 and focusing on that through the early 2000’s, the team then stepped up to the Domestic Elite ranks. US world tour riders such as Tejay Van Garderen, Chad Haga, and Mara Abbott came through the program during this time. Nowadays, the team consists of a 40 rider club team that competes in all disciplines, and our 11 rider elite team that focuses on road stage racing and gravel events. Our elite team consists of riders from Colorado, New Mexico, and Bermuda. To check out our full roster, click here!
This year, we have partnered with Fezzari to help us achieve success on the road! We’ve been looking for a partner that provides quality bikes, is based in the US, and truly cares about the community that rides their bikes. Their 15 years of experience in the cycling industry makes us confident that we have the right partner to support us as we race across the country this year! After our team camp finished up a few weekends ago, rider Alex Marr had the following to say about his new bike “I was hesitant at first since I didn’t know anything about Fezzari, but the Empire SL is one of the stiffest, most responsive road bikes I’ve ever ridden. Every corner I take I know I can trust the bike will go where I want it to and every time I sprint the bike immediately responds. Perfect power transfer from the handlebars to the pedals!”
