MOUNTAIN BIKE MAINTENANCE: Front Derailleur
Do the front gears not shift smoothly to the biggest chainring (gear) on the front? Or is the derailleur rubbing rubbing on the chain? If so, go through the following steps:
Shift to the largest chainring on the front and the high gear (smallest gear) on the back.
Turn the pedal. If it is rubbing on the outside part of the derailleur, turn the Left Shifter Barrel Adjuster counter-clockwise until it stops rubbing.
You're done! That's all there is to it!
Note: if for some reason, the above doesn't work, there may be another very easy adjustment (like the high and low limit screws). Please contact us and we'll be happy to guide you through it.
